Sustainability Achievements with Green Lancaster

Our Friends of °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï in America are philanthropic supporters of a diverse range of projects at Lancaster, one such area being ¡®Green Lancaster¡¯. The collaborative partnership between the University and the Students Union delivers a series of projects that bring the entire campus community together to work on innovative ideas that promote healthy and sustainable lifestyles.

Supporting our Students

The Lancaster Success Programme (LSP) works with students from backgrounds which are underrepresented at university to help them get the most out of their university experience. We hear from one of our students supported by the LSP, and how her donor funded scholarship helped to ease some of her financial worries.

The Lancaster Sanctuary Fellowship

The Lancaster Sanctuary Fellowship provides a safe place at Lancaster for scholars who face persecution and barriers to research freely in their own countries. The Fellowship was created in response to the rapid increase in numbers of academics needing support. The Fellowship provides a fee waiver and offers in-kind and direct financial assistance to Fellows who join the University as visiting researchers.

The Regional Heritage Centre

Our Regional Heritage Centre delivers placement programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students, many of whom go on to work in the heritage sector. Learning how to research and handle primary sources from archival material is a vital part of our students¡¯ education, and the work experience our students obtain helps put them in confident stead as they move forward after graduation.

Donor Support of the Library

The Library sits at the heart of °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï¡¯s community and supporter funding has helped the Library to deliver a number of invaluable projects, including a family space within the Library and this year, a programme of engagement and citizen science activities exploring the British jukebox, giving students the opportunity to be part of an oral history research team.

The Law School Social Mobility Fund

After the success of the initiatives launched through the Law School Social Mobility Fund, the Law School have once again provided vital support through financial grants, food and toiletries provision and employability support, along with new developments to support students from a widening participation background.

Care through the Colleges

Philanthropy continues to support the colleges, by enabling them to continue vital care programmes which many students have come to rely upon and empowering them to respond with agility to the changing needs of students through the development of new initiatives.
